Securities

The Brattle Group advises clients and provides expert testimony in a broad range of matters involving alleged violations of federal securities laws. Our experience includes work in class actions, derivatives, executive compensation, stock options, asset-backed securities, ERISA actions, breach of fiduciary duty, valuation, and bankruptcy. Our expertise is grounded in a thorough understanding of finance and economic theory, accounting, financial products, capital markets, regulation, and industry custom and practice.

Our economic consultants are faculty members at top universities, have written graduate level text on corporate finance, have testified in both civil and criminal courts, and have worked as officers at a global investment banks and brokerage house. We also have solid working relationships with a vast network of outside academic advisors including several former chief economists at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

We have been retained by both plaintiff and defendant in a wide range of economic consulting engagements. These include matters involving securities fraud (10b-5 and section 11), broker/client investment suitability, ERISA investment suitability, asset valuation, bankruptcy and ability to pay, and financial contract analysis.
